Am I a Lush Cosmetics addict?

I've been thinking recently about what it actually is that makes me so mad about Lush. Thinking about whether or not it's just a hyped up brand by many bloggers out there (including myself) who snap away and get that gram whenever they take a soak, making me want products, or do I actually love what the products are and appreciate the products for what they do?

Being a company that don't test on animals is a bonus, and something I'm now trying to live buy as a new addition to my resolutions (post HERE), and knowing I can buy anything under the roof of Lush is just easy. But it's not just the fact they don't test on animals. It's just as amazing how they recycle bottles and make a head scarf out of them, and that you can take your empty bottles in to recycle if you want. There are so many different ways that Lush are trying to help the planet and a reason why I respect and love what the company is about.

Of course I'm not going to forget about how every product smells delicious and good enough to eat. And that no matter what you pick up in store, the camera loves it. Scents are such a big thing to us and one of the biggest things people look for in a bath or shower product as well as the benefits. Scents are made easy in Lush and you know what you're getting. A great smelling product
that does what it says and will leave you in a daze for days. The scents stay on the skin for such a long time (sometimes we're talking not just hours, days) and the product that says it will moisturise, so it moisturises.

As well as the scents the fact they sell things like bath bombs and bubble bars that are fun and really tickle the senses. Being not just a nice smell, but a work of art in your bath of which they bring new items out very regularly. You've got thing for the shower people, like jellies that come in mantas beards and in shower body conditioners that make your skin feel baby soft and oh so brand new.

Basically, I don't need anyone to persuade me to buy from Lush. I honestly love the company and its products. Lush art is big within the community and as the products are so photogenic, naturally appear on our feeds. But that's not the thing that makes me go back time after time. The staff are all so passionate about the products and the brand, wanting you to love them as much as them. I can't stress enough what a #lushaddict I am, but I can assure you, this love is real and I will keep on supporting Lush as I know they are quality and beneficial products I'm buying that are cruelty free and I can recycle.

I'm Jaide and I'm a Lush addict. There, I said it.

Sunday kintwear | Fashion OOTD

The perfect Sunday outfit for me, is one thats easy to wear. Everything from quick to get on, comfortable, cosy and just effortless. To reach this Sunday perfection, I like to go for knitwear and jeans. That's just me. I know some of you out there will be like WHAT? Jeans? Yes, I find them one of the most comfortable items. A part from joggers and leggings of course but, theres a time and a place for those bad boys.

Sunday morning was a bit of a rush if I'm honest as we were off to Brighton for the day and decided to have a chilled morning with a coffee in bed watching some easy TV, so it literally was a grab and go situation. The jumper is one of my most favourite pieces right now and was a Christmas present from my mum. As soon as I saw Lily Pebbles wearing it in one of her vlogs I just had to have it. Anything grey and I'm there really, but, I also fell in love with the knitted pattern and the high neck but seriously, Marks and Spencer is killing it with knitwear right now.

Everything else included in this outfit was older than a year, which some people might not be fans of, but, thats just how I roll. The COS jacket (super old) is a proper old favourite that I bust out when in need of a bit of colour and call it my colourful coat as I'm a monochrome worshiper normally. My Russell and Bromley boots are into their 3rd year now and are still going incredibly strong and are most certainly needed in this cold weather when converse just won't cut it. I do want to broaden my collection of ankle boot for this reason and feel a standard Chelsea boots is on the wish list now.

My little bit of out there with the glittery socks. Because the only jeans in grabbing distance were these cut off ones, I fancied a bit of something something. If they're going to be on display, you might as well give em something to look at. Faithful Topshop glitter socks that I think everyone has.

Link me in the comments below to some of your go to Sunday looks you've featured. I'd love to see them and get some inspiration. Sunday is by far one of my favourite days of the week and dressing for comfort and ease is up on my list of loves.

XOXO

What I'll be reading in 2017 | Lifestyle

Reading is something I would love to do more this year as it's been proven to help all sorts of things, but most importantly, a time to relax and get away from the world. Last year my job didn't really allow me to have much time other than school holidays to read, so hoping this year with a new job will allow more reading time. Of course I'll try to read more than this collection, but these are my latest buys and books I was gifted as Christmas presents.

I treated myself to book one and two of 1Q84 in the latter part of last year (still feels weird saying that) so have only just started it. So far, I love it and it's written in a really cool way and is constantly chopping and changing the focus on the characters and storylines so really does keep you on your toes. Opening book three on Christmas day was a lovely surprise and is making me want to read the first two asap but, its a huge book so will take me ages as I'm a super slow reader....... pass the endless amount of coffee and blankets to aid this reading session.

A book I really wasn't expecting to open this Christmas was The Million Dollar Blog. I have seen this book online before, either Instagram or Twitter and have always been intrigued. There's sections inside to allow you to write your blog goals etc in so will probably have this as a ongoing this alongside my proper reading book.

For the past few years I've received a book created by one of my fav Bloggers/YouTubers so was over the moon the be given the PixiWoo book, Face. A makeup duo that I've followed for years and years (and can remember applying for the dailymix comps over and over) and duo lovely women that have taught me a lot when it comes to make up. This is most certainly going to take pride of place next to my Lisa Eldridge Face Paint  and my Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes  books as my collection of beauty bibles.

Of course I'll be reading Blogosphere magazine, which is a magazine for bloggers, by bloggers. Always full of interesting and advice giving articles from people you follow and respect within the industry. I always join in the Blogosphere chats on Sundays, which they share a selection of tweets from, and it's always so exciting to see your little Twitter profile picture there *giggles. It is a little dream/2017 goal of mine to get in the magazine somehow as I thoroughly enjoy and support the company since the beginning and when you really believe in something, you want to give back right?

I'd love to know what you'll be reading this year!

Career change and my 2017 resolutions | Happy New year

So, its New Years day and the majority of us are sporting a nice hangover I'm sure. I'm pretty luck as I never get hangovers (touch wood) but today I have to say, I feel a little ropey. As its a new year and everyones chatting about their resolutions etc, I thought it would be a good opportunity to share with you guys a little up date and what I'm planning for the new year.

I recently made a huge decision regarding my career, resulting in me leaving the teaching profession. Granted I never thought I would ever do it but health struggles, no professional progression and life/work balance got all too much for me and had to take the plunge. Teaching is hard but my god I was totally in love with it (I still am) but I think it just doesn't feel real yet until later this week when I start my new job. Having danced my whole life and been involved within the performing arts since the age of 4 it's going to be tough for me, I can feel it now. But on the positive side it will give me a chance to do these things for myself and be passionate about dancing and performing for me. My new job is exciting, different and challenging and will actually involved areas of blogging and what goes with that which is the dream right now. I'll keep you updated but to say that I'm nervous is an understatement. Wish me luck!

In terms of resolutions, I have tried to think of small things that I'd like to incorporate into my life rather than be extremely strict and set hard unreasonable resolutions.

1- More for me | Self love and making sure you are happy is something I feel everyone forgets about. We all love and care for others and are taught to be nice to each other, but, what about us? Me? Me myself and I? I'm a little unclear as to what and how I will achieve this other than just doing things that make me a happy person.

2- Positive vibes | Gone are the days of me having a negative streak. I am on the path to be more positive and think happy thoughts. Yes it's hard sometimes when life tests you and your pushed to your limits, but life is just far too short. Maybe it's where I'm getting older but what is the point in being negative? There's no point and its certainly not what Jaide Poppy is about in 2017.

3- Say yes more | Any opportunity I get in life, in my blogging life and now new career I will be saying yes more. In 2016 I said yes to things I never thought I would say yes to and the buzz, experiences and memories I now have because of saying yes is inspiring and fuelling my new passion of saying yes more. Having regrets isn't nice, and I do have some which I'm not looking into adding to.

4- I'll do it later | This is something I do a lot. And if my mums reading this, she'll agree that I'm such a procrastinator and will just say "I'll do it later" and sometimes never do it. It comes down to little things like texting people back. I'll look at them and think, I'll reply later when I can focus on it and its most likely that I'll forget and can go on for days before I realise and then respond.

5- Get that follower count up | I've seen and heard people say that growing your following/view count up on social media is easy. Well, I'd like to disagree and say that actually I think its bloody hard. Am I doing something wrong? If so please comment and let me know, but until I grow things like this I'm actually unable to work with particular brands and be considered for certain campaigns. It's not all about the figures, I know that but this is how most bigger brands work at the end of the day. So, creating even more content, taking part with twitter chats and rebranding my blog is being done.

If you've got to this section of the post, I congratulate you and thank you for having a little nosey at what my focuses will be this year. I wish for happiness and love to you all and most importantly, thank you for scrolling through my blog, liking my photos and watching my videos. Honestly, I couldn't love you guys more for the support.

Happy New Year!!
xoxo
