Timeless beauty | Dame Joan Collins

Most people have heard of Dame Joan Collins, either for her films, charity work and so on. Who would have thought that creating and releasing beauty products would be something to add to her list of accomplishments. She's glamorous, inspirational and beautiful. I knew I had to give some of her products a go!

The Ten Effects Skin Treat and Makeup Fixer boasts so many different benefits (see below picture).  Some things I was incredibly happy to see, especially this time of year were "super hydrates, firms skin and locks make up". It's quite heavily scented which for some might prove an issue. For me, it's been fine and hasn't aggravated my skin at all. The scent is nice and the perfect way to describe it would be 'timeless'. The ingredients include organic rose water, hyaluronic acid and red algae gel. Having used this product for a good couple of weeks I've noticed its been very good at hydrating and some dry areas especially are looking pretty good. It's actually been nice to use this spray as a makeup fixer and has definitely helped to lock my makeup in place for an entire day.

I'm certainly one for taking the time to look after my skin all over my body and not just my face. I'm a regular exfoliate and body butter user so I was interested in giving the Dry Oil a go as I was a bit stuck in my ways in terms of body exfoliation products. If I'm being completely honest, the scent is a little too much for me, and reminds me a little of my nans perfume (which is a nice thing but not want I want my skin to smell like). The plus is that this did exfoliate well, and left my skin so so smooth. It worked particularly well pre-shaving my legs and made a nice change to use a different product, as I'm normally a Soap and Glory Breakfast Scrub kinda gal.

I'm honestly in oar of the Ten Effects spray, and think that anyone, any age would appreciate it for the wonders it does and, for the help with makeup longevity. The Dry Oil would make a lovely Christmas present for an older women in the family, as it smells mature and most of all feels very luxurious to use. Dame Joan Collins said “Beauty is not just for the young. I believe with a little care and attention any woman can look good through her 40s, 50’s, 70’s and beyond.”.

I'm hoping these can products can do wonders on me to allow me to look as good as her in my 40s,50s and even 70s!

A little black Dahlia dress | Style

Everyone needs a little black dress. No matter what the material or shape, it'll always be a fail safe in your wardrobe ready for those days you just need something you trust and can rely on. As a lover of black clothing and forever trying to find items with their own little detail, a lace trim was just what I needed in my wardrobe. Dahlia to the rescue!

Day tripping to Brighton is something I do often and always like to be comfortable as there's always quite a bit of walking. Because of this, trainers are a go to for me, and mixing up sports with quite an evening style dress is something I do often. Even though I've styled the dress today with a bit of a dress down vibe, it could be easily be dressed up with some heels and a nice jacket.

Dahlia has their own website and are on all social media. Not having purchased anything from Dahlia before, I can't compare the dress quality etc with other items, however can tell you, that I'm really happy with it! The overall quality is fab and honestly will be getting good wear out of it. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the straps. It's just a loop and doesn't stop the straps lengthening on their own which proved a bit of a pain, but despite of this it will be a staple in my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. I love the overall look of the dress, the feel, how versatile it is and of course the little bit of lace at the bottom which makes it a bit more interesting than your standard black dress.

My Brighton vlog will be up on my channel Sunday. Make sure you head over and subscribe so you don't miss out!

See you there!
