What's in my bathroom #update

Now the sun is showing itself a little more often now, my bathroom essentials have changed. You bare more skin, have your hair dried out by the sun more and my skin gets more clogged. I can easily let my bathroom become overrun by products, to the point where all up the side of the bath is a line up of bottles, jars and soaps. Because of this habit of mine I've made a conscious effort to slimline my regularly used products, and these are my most used and loved right now.

Vita Coco Coconut oil: I use for a nourishing hair mask when my hairs feeling really dry and damaged by the heat. Now It's officially summer and people are going on holiday and sunbathing, people are actively applying sun lotion and not really thinking about their hair. Even spending days out in this country my hair takes a hammering from the sun (especially because its bleached). I apply the coconut oil from the mid length to the ends after shampooing and leave it in for a few minutes and then wash it off. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smelling amazing.

Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream: Has to be my favourite shower cream from Lush at the moment and certainly matches with the bright sunshine we've been having. It honestly smells amazing puts me in such a summery mood. Its an instant hit of citrus with a tad of chocolate creating a fresh and sharp chocolate orange smell that honestly, makes you want to eat it. Your skin feels super soft and the scent stays around for you to enjoy all day.

Garnier Body - Summer Body: Being incredibly pale, I struggle with fake tan and actually getting a natural tan. I have to even use this Summer Body carefully as If I apply too much, I can wake up with patches that make me look like I don't shower. Generally, if I use this correctly and carefully, then the effect is nice and natural, giving your skin a natural looking sun kissed glow. It smells lovely which helps as you normally expose more skin in the hot weather. I normally apply this after a bath or a shower when my skin in clean and has had a good scrub.

this works - clean skin gentle cleanser: Day trips out, laying in a park, having a picnic or watching a film on an outdoor cinema. Whatever you get up to this summer your face is constantly exposed and even if you use sun lotion specifically for your face, it still can suffer. This is why I like to use a creamy cleanser, to soothe and nourish my dry and blocked up skin. With added natural ingredients like frankincense to act as an antibacterial and Rosehip oil packed with vitamin A its great for your skin and helps to restore balance.

Vosene frequent anti-dandruff: I find that my hair can get very upset in the summer period and build up on my scalp can prove annoying and kind of embarrassing. This can be from (as gross as this is) daily sweat from the heat or even from a product build up. You can use this daily, even though I don't but it's nice to have the option there if you really need it. The Vosene shampoo leaves my hair nice and soft and really does help with any sort of dandruff problem whilst being affordable.

Do you use any of these? What products do I need in my shower?

Top twelve Topshop summer pieces

It's been a while since I've had a real long search sesh on the Topshop website, and oh boy was it hard to narrow my saved items down to make sure I don't overwhelm you with my top summer picks. As my summer holiday has started with a wardrobe clear out, I'm all for a summer shopping trip. Here are the items I feel are your must haves for summer to ensure your on trend and looking god damn fabulous in the sun.
(left to right)

1: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/floral-lace-crop-top-5727090?bi=0&ps=20
Great for putting under baggy and sheer tops, or if your brave enough just on their own. Quite a lot of the time in the hot weather I like to wear bralets or crops like this instead of bras as they get so uncomfortable.

2: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/tall-bleach-turn-up-girlfriend-shorts-5596270?bi=0&ps=20&Ntt=high%20wasited%20denim%20shorts
What's a summer without busting out the short shorts. However, in my case I like to go for some slightly longer ones than the most popular cheek showing length. These look perfect and also love the colour of the denim and the vintage wash.

3: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/juno-soft-glove-mid-shoes-5120294?bi=0&ps=20&Ntt=glove
So these aren't everyones idea of a summer shoe, but being a bit of a sandal and flip flop fobe I stay clear and go for other alternatives. The gold would look great with a bit of a tan and perfect for those days when you haven't had a pedi for a while. I've tried them on in store and they're so comfortable!

4: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/sale-offers-4181277/petite-jungle-print-slip-dress-5482693?bi=60&ps=20
Not normally much of a colour wearer, I thought this was nice amount of bright colours to get more summery items in my collection . I think it's cool in hot weather, easy as a throw on for lunchtime or even an easy evening outfit perfect for hot evenings.

5http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/tall-floral-bardot-top-5684722?bi=20&ps=20
Now this is quite out there for me in terms of colour. I love the bardot neckline which I think is just the most flattering for all women of all sizes. The bright and vibrant colour would look great on all skin tones and the pattern is so pretty. Teamed with the denim shorts or even the skirt I think this is such a perfect versatile top perfect for the warmer weather.

6: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/tall-cactus-pyjama-shirt-5693684?bi=0&ps=20&Ntt=pj
Every fashion conscious person out there is fully aware of the pj trend at the moment, so why not actually wear some pjs out? Again would look great with some denim shorts/skirt and the cacti print is so cute. I really like the fact the background colour isn't white but cream, which will give a little different feel to your outfit, instead of a bright white.

7: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/swimwear-beachwear-3163078/polka-dot-print-bikini-pant-5669588?bi=0&ps=20

8: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/swimwear-beachwear-3163078/polka-dot-print-bikini-top-5697241?bi=0&ps=20
Who doesn't love a matching bikini? I struggle finding a good fitting bikini as my body shape isn't the standard that shops make for (which I'm guessing is the story for a lot of people). A halter tie top is one of the best for me and love the fact it's a different colour of the actual bra, so contrasting and eye catching.

9: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/tall-poplin-bardot-top-5709291?bi=20&ps=20
As I've already said, a bardot neckline is one of my favourite and most flattering. Every summer this trend goes everywhere and I'm totally happy about that. Having a plain white bardot in your collection is a clever move and opens up more outfit options for you. The frill around the top is cutesy and can see this being so popular.

10: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/tops-443/lace-festival-crop-cami-by-band-of-gypsies-5480064?bi=100&ps=20
Wearing just a crop top isn't for me, but with this its different. Having a floaty overlay to the tight fitting crop top would enable me to wear this without the confidence worries. Everyone loves a bit of lace, especially in summer. Can see this being paired with a nice pair of palazzo pants ready for day or night time fun.

11: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/tall-high-waist-denim-mini-5400658?bi=40&ps=20
Not being much of a fan of anything that's too short, I love the fact this is high waisted and a longer length. I remember having denim skirts like this years ago and its crazy how trends come back around. I just wish I'd kept my original (dam clothing clear outs and having lack of storage space to keep all of my clothes).

12: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/bags-accessories-1702216/new-era-9forty-essential-cap-5712863?bi=20&ps=20
I'm late to this trend and never thought I'd be game for it, however, here I am declaring my love for the baseball cap thing going on right now. If I had to choose, I'd definitely have to go with a black cap to ensure I get the most wear out of it possible. Would help keep the sun off your face, and when teamed with a sports luxe outfit looks too good.

Is there anything that Ive missed on the website that you think I need to add to my summer shopping list?

What items do you like?

Quick and easy vegan and gluten free energy balls

Finding snacks that are both vegan, and gluten free can be a right pain, especially when I’m on the go. That’ why making my own snacks from scratch is essential and thought I’d share a couple with you as I know what a struggle it is having to eat to those specific dietary needs.

Energy balls are everywhere in the healthy eating world. You can find them in recipe books, on the shelves in Holland and Barrett and even in some of our big supermarkets. They can fit in your pocket (as long as they’re in a packet) or a small Tupperware and bobs your uncle, a healthy snack you KNOW you can have.

Your base ingredients should be made up of 1 cup of dates and ½ a cup of two types of nuts. You can then add in some seeds like chia or flax in which I include two tablespoons of. To get some flavor, you need a generous heaped tablespoon of some spice, of either cinnamon, cacao, ginger or anything you want. A tablespoon of coconut oil needs to be thrown in to help stick the mixture. This is why I like making them so much, they’re totally changeable and you can make them with whatever you want.

Ingredients for the energy balls pictured:
1 cup of dates
½ cup Flaked Almonds
½ cup Walnuts
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 tablespoon on raw cacao powder
1 heaped tablespoon of Almond butter

After you blitzed them up in your food processor until its more or less smudged together and nicely chopped up and sticky (great explanation Jaide….). Take a little of the mixture each time and roll into a ball. There’s no right or wrong size so that’s totally up to you. Once rolled in pop them either on a plate or in a Tupperware and stick them in the fridge. They can keep for a good couple of weeks and are just so handy to have for those times when you just need a little pick me up.

Have you made any and want to share your recipe? Will you give them a go?

Next Friday will be the second snack of my two most made. Can you guess what they’ll be?

Happy Friday!
xoxo
